Mrs Reddy-Devlin7H1 Tutor Group
Subject Leader: Art
Hello, I am looking forward to meeting you all in September and am very excited for you all on this new journey of learning in these extraordinary times. I will be with you at the start of each morning preparing you for the day ahead. It is going to be very different for us all so please do not worry about it, we are starting afresh together. I will be there for you to achieve your goals.
Mr Wheeler7H2 Tutor Group
Subject Leader: Physical Education
Hello 7H2, I am very much looking forward to meeting you all in September, but for now I thought I would say a quick hello to introduce myself. My main role at UALS is Head of PE, some of you may be taught by me in September or join one of the many free extracurricular clubs that are held at lunch or after school.
I love sport at all levels from world class to grass roots. As long as you try your best and do not give in when it gets hard, I carry this philosophy in my everyday life.
"You may not be the best but you can do your best".
So as a tutor I like to try to win, whether that is playing sport, best attendance, most house points or the least behaviour points. We will not win all the time but the aim will be to keep working hard and not giving in.
My main rule is being respectful and honest. Arrive to form and all lessons on time, equipped with everything you need. If you have forgot something such as equipment be honest and it can always be sorted out.
Talk to a friend or myself if you are struggling inside or outside of school.
I look forward to seeing you all in September but for now enjoy your remaining days at school and have a relaxing and safe break.
Mrs Wilkins7N1 Tutor Group
Primary Transition Coordinator, Instructor of Mathematics
Mrs Sutton7L1 Tutor Group
Instructor of English
Miss Thompson7L2 Tutor Group
Teacher of Mathematics
I am so excited to meet you all and be your new Form Tutor. I am also a Maths teacher here at UALS so some of you may have me for some of your lessons too. A few fun facts about me: I love unicorns and the colour pink, I have lots of pets including some exotic animals and I spend my spare time knitting or playing video games.
I have been a Year 7 tutor before and I am really looking forward to doing it again with you.
See you all in September, I can't wait !
Mr Gooding7S1 Tutor Group
Teacher of Humanities
Welcome to UALS, I am Mr Gooding and I have been a Year 7 Tutor for the last five years.
I like to create a calm and safe environment for all my pupils. If you need advice and help you only have to ask. I am very approachable and will always be available during the school day if needed.
The first few weeks can be both exciting and a little 'scary' but you will soon get used to your new environment and make lots of new friends.
You have so much to look forward to at UALS.
Mr Archer7S2 Tutor Group
Assistant Subject Leader: English
Hi 7S2, I look forward to meeting you all in September.
My advice is to follow these 3 simple rules:
1. Do your best and follow the instructions of all the staff as it will be for your benefit.
2. Treat others how you wish to be treated, be honest, be polite don't tell lies and don't be a bully.
3. If you have a problem, tell somebody - we are here to help.
If you can do this, I am sure your time at UALS will be a success.

Mrs K Briggs
I would like to personally welcome you to UALS. The Year 7 team are really looking forward to meeting you and getting to know you. We would like to wish you every success as you begin your secondary journey with us and we are here to help and support you in any way that we can.
The partnership between the Academy and parents/carers is very important to me. I encourage all parents/carers to be fully involved with their child's progress and they are welcome to make an appointment with the Year 7 team to discuss any aspect of their child's education.
Our Year 7 students can certainly look forward to an enjoyable and productive year, full of new challenges, hard work, success and rewards.
Unfortunately, I will not be here in September to welcome you but Mr Murfet (Acting Learning Coordinator), Mrs Wilkins (Acting Assistant Learning Coordinator) and the rest of the team will definitely be on hand to look after you.
